Mirror’s Edge Review
Mirror’s Edge introduces players to Faith, a “runner” in a world where communication channels are highly monitored and the movement of human traffic is closely watched. When Faith’s sister gets framed for a murder she did not commit, Faith finds herself on the edge of the city, on the wrong side of the law.
Mirror’s Edge delivers players straight into the shoes of this modern day heroine as she traverses the vertigo-inducing cityscape, engaging in intense combat, fast-paced chases and challenging puzzles. With a never-before-seen sense of movement and perspective, players are drawn into Faith’s world.
For those of you who thought Mirror’s Edge would only be about running around skylines, EA and DICE held an event last week in a real San Francisco high-rise to prove you wrong; Mirror’s Edge will be about running around skylines as well as running around skylines while being timed.
There will be 20 time trials for you to unlock as you play through guard-laden, high-flying courier missions as Faith, the game’s black-haired heroine. My time behind the controller and above the San Francisco rooftops centered on a trial titled “Edge.” Starting a few floors below a rooftop, Faith had to get up a flight of stairs, across a roof, leap from one building to another, slide down a wooden ramp, get up another building side, and jump from one catwalk to another.
